Man Acquitted In Young Dolph Murder Now Out On Bond After Allegedly Threatening To Shoot Up Woman Home

He Beat A Murder Case And Still Cannot Stay Out Of Trouble

Hernandez Govan, the man who was acquitted in the murder of Memphis rapper Young Dolph, is back in the news for all the wrong reasons. Less than a year after walking free on murder charges, Govan was arrested on stalking and harassment charges after a woman accused him of threatening to shoot up her home.

The 47 year old was released from custody on a $4,000 bond following his arrest on June 11, 2026. According to court records, the woman accused Govan of sending threatening calls and messages that left her fearing for her safety. The charges stem from what investigators describe as a domestic-related incident.

The Threats Were Extreme

This was not just some heated argument over text messages. According to investigators, Govan allegedly threatened to shoot up the woman's residence. He also allegedly threatened to post explicit content of her on social media as a form of retaliation. Those are serious accusations that paint a picture of someone willing to use violence and humiliation to control another person.

As part of his bond conditions, Govan must stay away from the victim. He is prohibited from using or possessing firearms. He is not allowed to contact her on social media or through any other means. He is due back in court on Monday.

A $4,000 bond for someone accused of threatening to shoot up a home seems remarkably low. But that is the system. He walked out and is currently a free man awaiting his next court date.

The Young Dolph Case Still Haunts Memphis

For those who need a refresher, Young Dolph was shot and killed inside Makeda's Homemade Butter Cookies in Memphis on November 5, 2021. Govan was charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in connection with the killing. The prosecution alleged he was the person who ordered the hit.

After a trial that gripped Memphis and the hip-hop world, a jury deliberated for approximately three hours before finding Govan not guilty on all counts on August 21, 2025. The acquittal stunned many who believed the evidence against him was strong. Dolph's family expressed devastation at the verdict.

Following his acquittal, Govan said he planned to leave Memphis. He also spoke publicly about mourning the death of his daughter, rapper Lotta Cash Desto, who was shot and killed in Houston. Now, less than a year after beating a murder case, he is facing new criminal charges.

A Pattern That Concerns Many

The hip-hop community has watched this situation unfold with a mixture of frustration and resignation. A man accused of ordering the killing of one of Memphis' most beloved rappers walked free, and now he is accused of terrorizing a woman in her own home.

Whether or not Govan was truly involved in Young Dolph's death is something only he and the people closest to the situation know for certain. A jury said not guilty. But these new charges suggest that whatever life he is living post-acquittal is far from peaceful or reformed.

Do you think a $4,000 bond was appropriate for these charges? And does this new arrest change how you view the Young Dolph verdict?
