Our Standards

TTL aims to publish accurate, fair, clearly attributed entertainment and culture journalism. Editorial judgment, sourcing, verification, context, and corrections are handled independently from advertising sales and paid campaign operations.

Verification and Review

Review depth depends on the story and its risk. Writers and editors are expected to verify material claims with reliable sources, distinguish allegation from established fact, preserve attribution, and avoid presenting a filing, complaint, social post, or rumor as a court finding or independently verified fact. Automated RSS and breaking news ingestion remains draft only and published story updates require editorial review.

Sourcing

Sources can include official statements, attributable social posts, court records, public records, direct interviews, press materials, first party media, and established reporting. A source is described according to what it actually establishes. TTL does not hide a source name merely to make a story sound more authoritative.

Developing and Sensitive Stories

Developing stories can change quickly. High risk allegations, unverified death reports, and other sensitive claims require additional verification before publication. Court complaints and filings are attributed as allegations or filings unless a court has made the relevant finding.

Corrections and Updates

Material errors should be corrected transparently. Published stories are not silently rewritten by automated ingestion. Suggested automated updates enter an editorial review queue before they can change a published article. See the Corrections Policy for reporting an error.

Advertising Independence

Advertisers, sponsors, campaign clients, and sales representatives do not receive authority to approve or rewrite independent editorial coverage. Sponsored or paid material is identified through the applicable advertising disclosure.

Artificial Intelligence

TTL may use AI tools to assist with research, drafting, editing, categorization, or other newsroom workflows. AI output is treated as material that can be wrong. Automated editorial ingestion cannot publish a story on its own, and AI suggested changes to an already published story require explicit editorial review.

Sports Picks

Sports picks and analysis are entertainment and editorial content, not gambling advice. Results are tracked from the underlying game data, and predictions are inherently uncertain.

Contact

Editorial concerns can be sent to legal@thetalklounge.com or through the corrections process.
