Cookie Policy

How The Talk Lounge uses cookies, local storage, consent categories, and privacy preference signals.

Last updated: August 18, 2026

1. Cookies and similar storage

TTL uses cookies and browser storage for security, authentication, preferences, optional analytics, optional marketing, and selected reader features. Some third party services may set their own storage only when the related feature is enabled and the required consent is present.

2. Consent categories

Essential

Required for authentication, security, session management, privacy preference enforcement, and core site operation. Essential storage cannot be disabled through the TTL consent panel.

Analytics

Optional measurement used to understand site usage and performance. Analytics integrations are not loaded through TTL when this category is disabled.

Marketing

Optional third party advertising, marketing measurement, social embeds, and similar commercial technologies. Without marketing consent, TTL does not load third party ad inventory, social embed scripts, or ad tracking. A first party hosted sponsorship image may still appear without tracking.

Personalization

Optional browser preference signals used for selected recommendation and reader experiences. Account Reading History has its own authenticated privacy control and is not enabled merely by a browser cookie choice.

4. Third party services

Depending on configuration, consent, and the feature you choose to use, TTL may interact with services such as Google Analytics, Google advertising products, Stripe, social platforms used for official embeds, and YouTube privacy enhanced playback. Provider controlled cookies or identifiers are governed by those providers' own policies and can change independently of TTL.

Social embed scripts are not loaded until marketing consent exists. YouTube playback is click activated and uses the privacy enhanced YouTube domain. Before playback, TTL serves the preview image through its own same origin proxy.

5. Global Privacy Control

TTL recognizes a supported Global Privacy Control signal. When it is present, TTL treats the browser as opted out of nonessential analytics, marketing, and personalization. The GPC choice takes priority over a conflicting local consent selection.

6. Managing your choices

You can reopen TTL Cookie Preferences at any time. You can also delete cookies or local storage through your browser settings. Clearing browser data can remove locally stored preferences, after which TTL may ask for your choices again unless a privacy preference signal is active.

For a sale or sharing opt out request where applicable, use Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.

7. Do Not Track

TTL does not use the legacy Do Not Track signal as its privacy preference mechanism. TTL does recognize supported Global Privacy Control signals and the consent controls described above.
