Actor Taye Diggs got candid about his love life following his split from Apryl Jones, admitting to Us Weekly that he simply does not have the energy for dating right now. The All American star, 53, revealed he has no idea what he is doing when it comes to romance and is hoping love will just "magically appear."

In his interview with Us Weekly, Diggs did not hold back about where he stands.

"I have no idea what I'm doing. I really don't. So now I'm just chilling out."

The actor explained that the modern dating landscape, including apps and social media, feels overwhelming. He admitted that he will occasionally notice someone and consider making a move, but the motivation just is not there.

"I'll see somebody, and I'll be like, 'Oh, I wonder if I should.' I don't have the energy. So I'm hoping that somebody will just magically appear. And if not, that's cool too."

Taye Diggs and Apryl Jones, the Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood star and entrepreneur, were first romantically linked in 2022 after connecting on TikTok. Diggs revealed that he met Jones after joining the platform in December 2021. Apryl confirmed the relationship in February 2022 when she posted a video on Instagram that ended with Diggs kissing her on the cheek.

The couple went their separate ways sometime in 2023, though neither publicly addressed the breakup in detail. According to reports, a friend of Apryl's revealed that "she left the situation," suggesting Jones was the one who ended things. Before dating Apryl, Jones was previously in a relationship with singer Omarion until their split in 2016.

Before Apryl Jones, Diggs was married to Broadway legend and Frozen star Idina Menzel for over a decade. The two met in 1995 while starring in the original Broadway cast of Rent, where Diggs played Benjamin Coffin III and Menzel played Maureen Johnson. They married in January 2003 and welcomed their son Walker in September 2009 before divorcing in 2014.

Menzel has previously spoken about how the "interracial aspect" of their marriage added complications. Despite the divorce, Diggs has spoken positively about their coparenting relationship, telling Us Weekly in February 2025 that they have always tried to put their son first.
