Druski made history on Saturday night. The comedian hosted Saturday Night Live on November 7, becoming the first internet content creator ever to host the show in its 52 seasons, and he did it with a surprise guest in his opening monologue.
Druski, whose real name is Drew Desbordes, took over the fifth episode of Season 52 with The Strokes as the musical guest. He opened the night by naming the moment for what it was. It is a dream to be hosting Saturday Night Live, he told the crowd, before rattling off the title everybody had been giving him, the first inter

net content creator, social media influencer, only make you laugh on your phone, TikTok and YouTube and Instagram star to host the show.He made it clear he was not about to shrink himself for late night television. He said SNL would not be holding him back from saying anything and told the audience there were only two rules he had been given, no cussing and no whiteface. He called himself living proof that you can bet on yourself and make your dreams come true.
Then came the surprise. Emma Stone walked out to join him. The two star together in the upcoming Universal romantic comedy The Catch, which hits theaters May 21, 2027, and is
directed by Dave McCary. Druski told the Oscar winner he loved her work in Bugonia, then claimed he was playing her love interest in the new movie. Stone corrected him on stage, saying he might have misread their scenes and that the characters are not romantic partners. Druski closed the bit by saying he just wanted to be the first Black guy to say he loved Bugonia.

Just as he was thinking about how to repay them for their support, his grandmother asked for some money, a joke that landed with the crowd and with viewers at home.
The night gave Druski room to bring his character driven humor to a television audience. The episode also featured a parody sketch with Jane Wickline as Elizabeth Holmes, and a cameo from James T

alarico, as the show leaned into the midterm results from the same weekend.
For Druski, the hosting gig caps a rise built entirely online, from viral sketches to one of the most famous stages in comedy. He is 32 years old and built his following performing sketches on TikTok, YouTube and Instagram before NBC handed him the stage. He has also signed a deal with Netflix for a church comedy titled Collect and Praise, based on his popular megachurch pastor character, which is scheduled to premiere on December 1, 2026.
Next up, John Mulaney will host the November 14 episode alongside Phoebe Bridgers as musical guest. But Saturday belonged to Druski, the first creator to ever host SNL, who opened his monologue by calling it a dream and closed it with a movie star at his side.
