Boosie Records His Traffic Stop With Police
In the video, Boosie began recording the officer as he approached the vehicle, placing his phone down just before the officer reached the window. The rapper's face remained visible in the frame throughout the encounter. His first words set the tone immediately.
"What did I do?"
Boosie sounded irritated and disappointed about being pulled over. The officer explained that the rapper had run a yellow light and failed to use his blinker when passing another vehicle. The officer then asked for his license to run his information, and Boosie reluctantly handed it over. As the officer walked back to his patrol car, the rapper muttered, "I didn't do s***."
The Traffic Stop Ended With A Surprising Twist
In a turn that nobody expected, Boosie did not receive a ticket. The officer let him off with just a warning. The rapper added text to the video that read, "GAVE ME A WARNING. SAY HE LIKE THE COLOR OF THE CAR LOL. TURNED OUT HE WAS COOL."
The lighthearted ending was a welcome change for Boosie, whose history with law enforcement has been anything but smooth. According to The Shade Room, the video quickly gained traction on social media, with fans expressing surprise at the calm and respectful nature of the interaction from both sides.
Boosie's Complicated History With Law Enforcement
Boosie, whose real name is Torrence Hatch, has had numerous run ins with police over the years. In July 2022, the rapper went viral after being handcuffed during a traffic stop in Georgia, where he was pulled over for tinted windows and concealed tags. Officers claimed they smelled marijuana and found a plastic bag of weed in the vehicle. Boosie erupted during that encounter, accusing police of targeting him because of his celebrity status.
In May 2023, Boosie was arrested in San Diego on federal gun charges after police reportedly saw him with a firearm on Instagram. He was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. Boosie ultimately pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years of supervised release, 300 hours of community service, and a $50,000 fine, avoiding prison time.
Given all of that history, this particular traffic stop ending with a friendly warning and a compliment about his car was a rare win for the rapper. Fans joked in the comments that Boosie should frame the warning as a souvenir.
