A Reality Show About Diddy & His Family Has Been Canceled

Hulu pulled the plug on a reality series centered around Sean "Diddy" Combs and his family after the music mogul was hit with multiple sexual assault lawsuits in late 2023. The show, which was being developed under the working title "Diddy + 7," never made it past the early stages of production.

Hulu Was Developing A Reality Show About Diddy's Family

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hulu had been in the early stages of developing a reality series that would follow Diddy and his seven children. The show was being produced by Fulwell 73, the production company co owned by James Corden and four other partners. The concept was reportedly modeled after the success of "The Kardashians" on the same platform.

Diddy is the father of seven children: Quincy Brown (whom he adopted), Justin Combs, Christian "King" Combs, Chance Combs, and twins D'Lila and Jessie Combs. He also welcomed a daughter, Love Sean Combs, in late 2022.

Multiple Lawsuits Led To The Show Being Scrapped

The decision to cancel the series came after a wave of sexual assault allegations against Diddy. The first lawsuit was filed on November 16, 2023, by his ex girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura. In the lawsuit, Cassie accused Diddy of years of physical abuse, sexual assault, and trafficking. The lawsuit was settled privately the following day.

However, two additional lawsuits were filed against Diddy later that same month. A woman identified as Jane Doe accused him of sexual assault, and producer Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones later filed a separate lawsuit with additional allegations. The mounting legal pressure made it impossible for Hulu to continue with the project.

Diddy denied all of the allegations at the time, releasing a statement that read in part:

"Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged."

Diddy's Business Empire Crumbled After The Allegations

The Hulu cancellation was just the beginning of a larger unraveling. In the months that followed, Diddy lost multiple business partnerships and endorsements. His honorary degree from Howard University was revoked, and the City of New York requested the return of a key to the city that had been awarded to him.

In September 2024, Diddy was arrested and indicted on federal charges including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He pleaded not guilty and was denied bail. The case remains ongoing as of early 2025.

The reality show cancellation now looks like the first domino in what became one of the most dramatic falls from grace in entertainment history.

The hip hop community continues to react to the developments, with artists, producers, and fans weighing in across social media platforms. In a genre that thrives on authenticity, competition, and unfiltered expression, moments like this become part of the larger cultural conversation that defines each era of the music. The story is still unfolding, and in hip hop, the next chapter is always just one verse, one post, or one interview away from changing everything.
