Nigerian music veteran 2Baba has announced a new album titled Oldest Young Man, his first full length studio project in six years. The 16 track album is set for release on November 27, 2026.
2Baba shared the news in an Instagram post, writing that the legacy continues and that timeless music has no expiration date. The announcement marks his return to the album scene since Warriors, which was released in February 2020.
The singer first teased the project on social media in August, describing it as a reflection of his experiences and his continued presence in the music industry. He offered an early preview during a listening party on September 19 in Victoria Island, Lagos, as part of activities marking his 51st birthday.
2Baba began his music career in the late 1990s as a member of Plantashun Boiz alongside Blackface and Faze, before building a solo career that made him one of Afrobeats leading figures. In the years since Warriors, he stayed active with singles, including Mental featuring Fave, released on September 18.
Oldest Young Man now gives fans a full new collection to look forward to. With 16 tracks on the way, the November 27 release is set to add a new chapter to a career that has already shaped Afrobeats for a generation.
2Baba, born Innocent Idibia, has spent more than two decades at the center of Afrobeats. His solo breakthrough came with African Queen in 2004, and his catalog has carried him through eras of the sound, from the Plantashun Boiz years to a solo run that made him one of the most respected voices in Nigerian music. Six years without a full album is the longest gap of his career, which is why the announcement landed the way it did with fans who have waited for a full project since Warriors. For longtime fans, the album is a return to the full length format that defined his early career. Singles kept him present in the years since Warriors, but a 16 track album gives him room to tell a fuller story, and the November 27 date puts that story in front of listeners before the year closes.
