RJ Mitte Manner Of Death Revealed In Official Inquest Report

The manner of death for RJ Mitte has now been made official. An inquest report from Cameron County, Texas, obtained by Page Six, lists the manner of death as suicide for the Breaking Bad actor, who was pronounced dead at 1:32 in the afternoon on October 12 in Brownsville, Texas. He was 34 years old.

Mitte was best loved as Walter White Jr., the son everyone called Flynn, on Breaking Bad. He brought something to that role that no acting class could teach. Mitte lived with cerebral palsy, and he played a character who lived with it too, at a time when television almost never made room for that. For a lot of viewers, he was the first person who looked like their own family sitting at the center of the biggest show on television.

His representative confirmed the loss in October with a statement shared with Page Six. It read, in part, that it is with profound sadness that they share the tragic passing of beloved actor, philanthropist and passionate disability rights advocate RJ Mitte. His work off screen matched the words. He spent years speaking up for performers with disabilities and pushing the industry to open doors it had kept shut.

His Breaking Bad family has been carrying the grief in public. Aaron Paul, who played Jesse Pinkman, spoke about the last time he saw Mitte and called the loss absolutely tragic in an interview last month. The love around his name since October has come from every corner of that cast and from fans who grew up watching him.

In his final interview, recorded for The Joe Vulpis Podcast, Mitte talked about time with a clarity that lands differently now. He said he lived life to the fullest because he had a very finite amount of time. Nobody in that room could have known how finite. The Talk Lounge shared that moment with you this week, and we are holding his family, his friends and his fans close as the official record closes this chapter.
