Trump Rolls Out the Red Carpet For Nicki
Nicki Minaj walked into the White House like she owned the place on Monday, July 6, and President Donald Trump made sure everybody in the Rose Garden knew she was his guest of honor.
During a luncheon celebrating the launch of Trump Accounts, a new government investment program for children, the president paused his speech to single out the Queens rapper in front of the entire crowd.
"We also have a woman that is so respected and so hot and so great and a great friend of, I don't say conservative, I say common sense," Trump told the audience. "She's a fantastic person, and she's a woman that's respected by everybody. And she's got real talent, Nicki Minaj."
"Nicki, stand up, please. Such a great person and respected by everybody."
The 43-year-old rapper, wearing a pink summer dress, received a standing ovation from attendees at the Washington, D.C. event.
White House Barbie Hits the Oval Office
Nicki wasted no time sharing the moment with her fans. She hopped on X after the event and posted several photos and videos from her White House visit, including one picture of her standing next to Trump inside the Oval Office itself.
"Whoa!!!! #WhiteHouseBarbie with her favorite President of all time."
That caption alone sent the internet into a frenzy. Some fans loved seeing her in the seat of power, while others questioned how far her political shift has gone. Either way, the engagement was massive.
From Pink Friday to Right Wing Rally
This White House visit is just the latest chapter in Nicki Minaj's well-documented conservative pivot. Back in December 2025, she appeared at a Turning Point USA event hosted by Erika Kirk, the widow of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, who was fatally struck at a TPUSA event in Utah in September 2025.
At that event, Nicki told the audience she has "the utmost respect and admiration" for the president.
"He has given so many people hope that there's a chance to beat the bad guys. And to win and to do with your head held high and your integrity intact."
She has also previously explained that swatting calls on her Los Angeles home influenced her decision to align with Trump and conservative politics.
Fans and Critics Weigh In
Social media was predictably split. Supporters praised Nicki for being fearless and authentic, arguing she has every right to align herself politically however she sees fit. Critics called the whole thing performative and questioned whether the rapper has abandoned her core fanbase.
One fan posted, "Nicki in the Oval Office is something none of us saw coming five years ago." Another wrote, "She went from Queen of Rap to Queen of the Right real quick."
Regardless of where people land, the conversation proved one thing: Nicki Minaj still commands attention no matter what room she walks into.
The Bottom Line
Love it or hate it, Nicki Minaj has positioned herself as one of the most politically connected entertainers in the country right now. Whether this helps or hurts her legacy is a debate that will rage on, but one thing is clear: she is not backing down.
