The Decision Looms
LeBron James is expected to finally announce where he will play his record-breaking 24th NBA season sometime this week. The Warriors, Cavaliers, and now the Philadelphia 76ers are all believed to be in serious contention for the 41 year old.
The 76ers entered the race after acquiring Jaylen Brown from Boston, giving them a young star to pair with LeBron alongside Tyrese Maxey.
The Contenders
The Warriors offer a partnership with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green — two players LeBron has battled against in four Finals. Golden State already signed Kristaps Porzingis in anticipation of adding James.
Cleveland offers a homecoming and James Harden, who is reportedly holding off on his own deal to create space. The Cavaliers are exploring trades to clear cap room.
Philadelphia offers the youngest core and the most upside if LeBron wants one more realistic championship window.
When To Expect It
Teams can officially sign players starting Sunday, July 6. LeBron's decision could come as early as today or stretch to midweek. Whatever he decides will reshape the NBA championship picture for the coming season.
