Kim Kardashian and her mother Kris Jenner have filed sworn court declarations denying they had any involvement in the release of the infamous sex tape with Ray J, but the singer lawyer is now screaming perjury and claiming they lied under oath.
The legal battle stems from ongoing defamation litigation between Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, and Ray J, who briefly dated Kardashian in the early 2000s. Ray J alleged as part of the lawsuit this fall that their now legendary sex tape was leaked on purpose, and that the Kardashians orchestrated the release to launch Kim career.
In court declarations filed Tuesday, March 10, both Kardashian and Jenner responded publicly for the first time under oath. Ray J claim that I had a plan with my mother and others to release a sex tape, defraud the public, and file a fake lawsuit against the porn company that released it to create buzz is a lie, Kim reportedly wrote in the filing.
Kris Jenner also filed a declaration calling Ray J allegations utterly false and disgusting. The duo are suing Ray J for defamation in a new 13 page lawsuit, claiming that the R&B singer fabricated claims that the women should be the subjects of a federal racketeering investigation.
According to the lawsuit, Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner claim Ray J sought to harass and disparage the pair while simultaneously reviving his own fading notoriety. The lawsuit was filed after Ray J allegedly breached the terms of a $6 million settlement agreement they made in 2023.
Part of that deal, according to Ray J, required everyone involved to stop mentioning the sex tape in public, including on their Hulu series. However, Ray J claims the Kardashians violated the agreement by discussing the tape again on The Kardashians, which prompted him to file a countersuit.
Ray J and the SKIMS founder, alongside her mom, found themselves in court last year when the duo dragged him to court for defamation after he claimed they were under federal investigation for racketeering. Now, Ray J lawyer is firing back after Kim and Kris filed their legal declarations, insisting the claims are a complete fabrication.
The singer and reality TV star maintains that Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner had absolutely everything to do with the release of the tape that famously helped launch Kim into superstardom. Nearly two decades after the leaked sex tape thrust Kim Kardashian into the spotlight, Ray J has reignited the fire with this bold legal strike.
