The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards delivered another major night for hip hop, with Cardi B and Kehlani walking away with the Best Hip Hop award for their collaboration “Safe.”
The win placed the two artists among the night’s notable hip hop winners as the VMAs continued celebrating some of the biggest names and releases across music.

Adding even more hip hop energy to the ceremony, Snoop Dogg served as host for the 2026 VMAs.

While the VMAs were making headlines, Drake created another major moment in Houston when he joined Karol G onstage during her concert.
The appearance marked the first live performance of their collaboration “Ahí.” Drake also performed “Janice STFU” and “One Dance” during the surprise appearance.
